She woke to the awful sensation of cramps tearing through her abdomen, not unusual with her cycles, but still way more intense than she’d previously experienced."When an unexpected tragedy strikes, Rumi is left to grapple with the fallout. Summary
After her voice failed during the Golden Live Show practice, Rumi ran. What she didn't consider was Zoey and Mira following her. Them finding out she is a demon goes nothing like she thought it would.
Now, Rumi's patterns won't stop spreading, and she can't deny the connection she feels to the honmoon. She also can't deny how weak it seems to be getting. Gwi-ma probably knows they were about to seal the honmoon for good and has something planned. Something big that has every cell in Rumi's body vibrating.
If that wasn't enough, there's also this stupid fluttering in her stomach every time Zoey and Mira get close to her, which has been happening more and more since they saw her patterns.

Halcyon laughed, picking up a flower that was growing in full bloom after her gentle touch. “It’s a dangerous existence out here.” She paused mulling over the words that came next. “Your backup is everything, trust me.”
“Trust you?” Flashfire snarled, pointing her gok-do at the vigilante’s throat. “In what world would I trust some loose cannon playing the ruse of a hero.”
A laughter echoed across the roof. “You don’t trust easily.”
“I trust the heroes. I trust order. The guild offers both.”
That seemed to be the wrong thing to say. Before Flashfire could get closer, a puff of pollen engulfed the rooftop, sending the hero into a coughing fit. As a parting gift, Halcyon whispered into the hero’s ear, “there is one minor difference between being a hero and vigilante. I don’t plan to be controlled.”
Flashfire whipped her gok-do round to dispel the pollen but as it settled, Halcyon had long since disappeared.

“We’re not going to leave your side!” The tears in Zoey’s eyes started to trail down her cheeks. She pressed her hand with a new towel up against her friend’s thigh first. “We’re right here! Just-” She cut herself off as she went to place her hand on Rumi’s arm. She froze with her facial expressions falling.
Tears started to cascade down Rumi’s face as she watched Zoey’s eyes widen, her pupils dilate and her whole body pull back just slightly.
The rapper’s gaze had fallen onto her exposed demon patterns.
Rumi let out a long trembling breath followed by a harsh whine.
She had to cover them up.

Jinu's soul has long since lost its humanity. There is no kindness nor empathy that remains. Instead, there is hatred fueled by shame that he directs towards this generation of Hunters. “Zo! What are you?!” Zoey cuts Rumi off before she can finish that sentence as the younger girl leans forward, a glint of something catching her eyes.
“Rumi…? Do you have… fangs?”
The sudden squeal Zoey lets out doesn’t give Rumi anytime to answer before she has a mouthful of Zoey’s fingers in her mouth.
Zoey hadn’t noticed these before, but Rumi’s canines were sharpened into a point and stood out between the other teeth.
“Wow… They’re so… sharp.” She swallows as she gets even a better look, pushing her face mere inches away from the half demon.
