King of Mondstadt or not, Diluc doesn't care: as long as he has Aether, he is content. The love he has for his little lover is a crown in and of itself, and it is the only crown that Diluc wears—and it is one that he wears with a pride that far surpasses the Ragnvindr name.

Alatus does not know how to respond to that. How does it say I am grateful for that, for you, for liberating me from the chains of my Master? I am grateful for the end of the unending gore, bloody wounds, and harsh touches upon my body.
It does not think that Morax would take kindly to that. Alatus shouldn’t be opinionated. It should not be grateful, it should not be thankful that its Master is dead. And yet, it is. It is infinitely indebted to how Morax has unlocked the birdcage and opened the door. It suspects they would have been too weak to push open the wire door themselves.
Songbirds are not meant to withstand so much abuse. Alatus knows that its time was coming to an end; it would have perished soon, had it not been freed. A hollow-boned body can only withstand so much.

Morax is a dragon. It is in his nature to want to add rare, beautiful, shiny things to his hoard whenever he comes across something of that nature, almost as much as it is to be possessive of the things he considers his.
When Morax enters the Domain of Dreams, he comes across the prized Adeptus of the Lord of Dreams. It is as though he is being presented with an offering and he does not hesitate; he snatches it away.
Only, the newest of his possessions is cracked and damaged and broken. Morax does not have as much experience putting things together compared to taking them apart, but for his new songbird, he may have to learn to do just that.
