“Oh, I didn’t say anything about going alone,” Sam teased, obnoxious mirth hiding under the surface, and Bucky knew he was going to hate whatever he said next. “Torres. Joaquín’s gotta test the wings sometime.”
Bucky actually stomped his foot, bristling and already opening his mouth to protest when Sam burst into laughter outright. His cheeks burned red, and he ought to stop letting Sam get to him like this.
“You,” Sam said slowly, rapping Bucky’s left arm with his knuckles, “are jealous.”

“That would help, yes.” Really? Internally Sam curses himself, before amending, “If you’re comfortable with it. Not everyone is, and that’s fine.”
“No, it’s fine.” Bucky hesitates before reaching for the bottom of his t-shirt and smoothly pulling it over his head.
Jesus Christ. Sam’s mouth goes dry. He knows Bucky’s a super soldier and what that physically entails. He’s not blind either to the way Bucky’s frustratingly small t-shirts fit him and hug his muscles but damn. Seeing the faint outline of his torso through his shirt in the daylight has nothing on seeing Bucky shirtless in his bed in the faint moonlight.

Bucky has trouble falling asleep at the Wilson's. Sam offers to give him a massage in hopes that it'll help him relax. Bucky agrees.

It’s dark out when Sam wakes up again, tangled in sweat-soaked sheets, and panting wildly. His hand is trembling when he rubs it over his wet eyes, and he has to clench his teeth against the sob he can feel bubbling up his throat.
He startles when his bedroom door creaks open, and watches in sleepy confusion as Bucky makes his way across the room towards the bed. Bucky is warm and solid when he reaches out for Sam, hands gentle as he pulls Sam close, and Sam is too exhausted to question anything, just lets himself be tucked against Bucky’s side, head on his chest.
Bucky tugs the sheets up and over them without a word.
Sam breathes out shakily, fingers curling into Bucky’s shirt, and closes his eyes again.
[3 times Sam falls in love a little bit more, plus the 1 time he finally does something about it.]
