Summary

This is what his life has come to. He’s being disrespected by a dumpster rat.
He wishes he had someone to blame his current situation on, someone to direct his anger at, but in all honesty, the shitshow that landed him here was nothing more than an unfortunate series of entirely incidental accidents.
He knocks his head back into the wall behind him and huffs. Next to him, the rat chitters (sounding sympathetic, though Soap is beginning to think he might be projecting… or just losing it).
Or: Soap loses comms on a mission and is presumed dead. Having been left behind, he has no choice but to make his own way back to base. He doesn't expect to have been missed quite so much.

Johnny pulls away slowly, the hands placed on Ghost’s chest sliding down and off him. Ghost chokes on a breath he can barely get into his lungs.
Johnny looks concerned, head tilting to the side a little, “... Are ya okay? If ya dinnae want to…”
“No,” Ghost wheezes, grabbing his other hand to rub his thumb into his palm. “I want to.”
He’s fumbling with his words, trying to explain what’s happening in a way that doesn’t sound absolutely pathetic, “It’s just been a long time.”
“How long?” Johnny asks gently, joking to lighten the mood once again, “Because ya act like ya never been kissed before.”
Ghost is quiet.
Very quiet.
Johnny sucks in a breath, eyes widening just a little as the situation seems to dawn on him, “... Oh.”

Johnny finds out Ghost has never been kissed after a night at the bar. Good thing he's an excellent teacher.

Or: Soap fell through the window when Ghost took a shot in Chicago, ran into a shapeshifter and got a dad out of it, learnt more about Ghost past, and got his heritage revealed to him in a response to his own joke. Not necessarily in that order.

“You can probably guess what we’re doing today.” Ghost was still looking at him, expressionless once again.
“Going into town, getting a pint and entirely giving up on my knife skills?” Johnny joked, knowing there was no way out of this one.
Ghost ignored him.
“Pick a blade, and we’ll start training with that type.”
After Ghost sees Soap’s lack of skill with knives in action, he takes it upon himself to change that. Good thing he does, because later down the line it makes the difference between life and death.

Summary
Soap makes a choked off noise of pure, unadulterated panic, and then he’s floating, drifting far away as his ears ring from the sound of multiple bombs going off.
When he comes to, he only gets to be happy that he’s somehow still alive for a moment, because everything hits him all at once. Pain explodes from every single part of him he can feel, and he wants to scream. He doesn’t, instead trying to take a deep breath to ground himself, but there’s rubble on top of him that’s unyielding, restricting his every breath.
His breath catches in his throat; focus, MacTavish. Assess your situation before you start panicking.
or, Soap gets trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building, and makes the (stupid) executive decision to omit that piece of information to the rest of 141. No one is happy about this when they find out.
