“Does this upset you, American?” the guard asks.
Hopper glares at him.
“Unlucky for him, then,” the second guard says, and kneels beside Steve, who flinches when the man presses a hand down on his forehead, keeping him still. “Doctor sent you something new,” he whispers, smirking.

Summary
All of these things Steve can deal with. He can handle sharp teeth and claws. He can handle wings and horns and tails. He’s fought monsters more times than he can count. What he can’t handle, however, is who all these features belong to.
Because, sitting on his bed and staring at him with near sparkling eyes is the beast that took him… “Eddie?!”
OR
It's only a few months after their first fight with Vecna when Steve gets kidnapped and taken to the Upside Down by a new and "improved" Eddie Munson. When Steve discovers that Eddie's goal is to get him to join Vecna's side, he realizes the gravity of the situation. Will Steve be able to survive these mind games, or will he fall victim to Vecna's tricks and Eddie's charm?
Can his friends save him in time, or will he become the new villain of their story?

Coming to terms with his feelings for his straight friend Eddie does not make things better. Steve begins to play a dangerous game with death. How many times can he pass out in his own blood before he doesn't wake up? How long can he live with this? When Eddie finds him one night things take a drastic turn. It's been a month since their showdown with Vecna, and Steve is finally coming to terms with something being wrong with him. He barely eats, he gets enough sleep to keep going, but the party and Robin still need him so he has to go on. Robin is excited for a date she has with Vickie, and the kids are excited about some Lunar Eclipse thing happening on the same night. Nothing goes to plan for Steve, who ends up transforming into a monstrous bat at the peak of the bloody Full Moon and finds himself being guided back to the Upside Down, where a vampire Eddie Munson has been waiting for his way back home.

“Just thinking about my mom, actually. She loved Christmas. She had this thing, about our tree. This one decoration that was her favourite, or - I dunno. I can’t really remember why she liked it. But it was this little bird. A tiny little blackbird. She’d always wait to the end to hang it. Like, most people put the star on last, or the angel, or whatever, at the top? Not my mom. It was always this little bird in pride of place. And Wayne used to moan - I mean, not moan, I guess, he was never serious, but he’d tease her about it. She just used to say that it was unfair, that the dove and the robin and the - and the partridge got all the attention. That the little blackbird deserved to be loved, too.”
Steve thought Christmas suited Eddie. Which presented more of a problem than it should have, really, when the man invited himself over to Steve’s place, along with Nancy and Robin, to get him into the ‘spirit of the season’.
All Steve wanted was to make it out the other side in one piece.
