"I’m only two minutes late!” Izuku protested. Had he missed the start of an important test? None of the national, standardized tests were supposed to happen this month and even being two minutes late to one of those wouldn’t elicit this sort of reaction. They were discussing their career interest forms today, but that was it. Nothing time-critical was supposed to be happening.
“Midoriya, you were reported missing a week ago. No one has seen you for eight days. The police have been combing the city for you.”
"I’m sorry. What?”
Midoriya Izuku went missing for a week and turned up in a back alleyway with skills he's never even heard of and no memory of how he came by them. He resigns himself to never learning the truth of what happened to him, but he shouldn't waste this chance should he? He could become a hero with reflexes like these.

Summary
Izuku is orphaned at the age of four and is sent into the Japanese Foster Care System. After multiple failed attempts at finding a forever home and some unfortunate circumstance, he ends up on the streets. Eventually, the vigilante, Deku appears. Eraserhead must gain his trust to bring Deku back to the right side of the law. If he he does, however, the untrustful but pure-hearted boy may just be a bit more than Aizawa Shota can handle.

Summary

Specifically, the quirkist one who seemed to have it out for Izuku. Midoriya struggles not to regress into his old mindset and Todoroki struggles to help his friend.

“Is he hostile, Tsukauchi?” Shouta murmured, using his capture weapon to great effect as he closed the distance between him and the warehouse.
“He’s a vigilante, Eraser, a lone wolf that’s more of a pain in my ass than an actual hostile,” the detective grumbled and Shouta felt an eyebrow tick up in interest.
In Shouta’s experience, lone vigilantes didn’t tend to involve themselves in organized crime like this. They tended to focus more on petty crime and single-perpetrator crimes and leaving the more group-oriented crimes to vigilante groups or Pro Heroes. That this vigilante was getting involved meant that the person was either extremely confident in their abilities to handle the situation, or was suicidal. Shouta really didn’t want to wait to find out which.

Summary
There, nestled lovingly in a cozy nest lined with bubble wrap and tissue, is a small lucky cat statue.
Izuku lets out a quiet gasp, and carefully scoops the statue up into his hand. It’s black, with a red collar and gold detailing. Its little eyes are squinted happily, and the curl of its mouth looks content.
“Someone must want to keep you safe.” Shinsou says, while Izuku rubs his thumb over the raised characters on the cat’s coin. “Black lucky cat statues are meant to keep away evil and keep people healthy- wait, Midoriya, are you crying?”
After Izuku gets hurt again during a routine class exercise, Class 1-A decides they've had enough of his bad luck, and decide to do something about it by sneakily gifting Izuku all different kinds of good luck charms. It'd be a great plan, if they hadn't forgotten that Izuku's nerves are always turned up to 11.

The tears Izuku managed to hold back earlier fill his eyes again, and he bites hard at his lip. He’s seven now; he has to be brave. “I’m okay,” he says softly. “Th-thank you for saving me.”
Those strange, dark eyes soften a little. “It’s my job,” he says simply.
Still. Izuku never got to thank him, the first time.
Izuku gets hit by a quirk that de-ages him to seven years old, and relearns what it means to be taken care of.

Summary
Normally, Izuku really liked having math at the end of the day. Ectoplasm was a good teacher, thorough in explaining concepts, always modeled the exercises before letting the students try, always willing to help any student that was struggling or needed clarification. Izuku also found his Hero prosthetics fascinating, often doodling them in the margins of his notes and running quick calculations trying to figure out what exactly they were made from in order to be as maneuverable and sturdy as Ectoplasm needed for Heroics.
Unfortunately, Izuku couldn’t focus on Ectoplasm or what they were learning in math today. His eyes flitted from the back of Bakugou’s head, to Iida diligently taking notes, to Todoroki and Uraraka nearby and seemingly absorbed in the lesson. It was fine, it was alright; no one was staring at him, so he must not smell too bad, right? No one could notice, right?

Aizawa exhales through his nose. He leans forward, rests his arms on his thighs. “Because you’ve spent your whole life defining yourself by how much you can take,” he says. “And now, for the first time, you’re feeling it. And it’s heavy.”
Or, you don't unlearn pain; you learn to carry it differently.
