Summary
The night of the battle of Haven Academy leaves everyone exhausted, crashing to bed and dead to the world, leaving only Ruby staying up in the dark and trapped in the thought of what had almost been lost.
No relic was worth the life of her partner. She'd thought she had time to psych herself up and take a step scarier than leaving Patch had been. But extra time was a luxury that had almost been stolen.
Meanwhile Weiss had already been aware that the world was a darker place than they had thought, only a year ago when they were invincible and unstoppable.

Summary
Weiss had a problem.
Well, in truth she had many problems, but this one—well, this one was beginning to become an awfully big one. Though in the past, she played the part (and lived up to) the title of 'Ice Queen' well enough, she'd never exactly had a heart of stone. This was apparent in few things, however, which led to the (honestly, probably well deserved) cementing of her status of words like 'asshole' or 'bitch.'
(Which, once again, she'd like to point out that this was probably deserved in some aspects—not all of them, certainly—but definitely some.)
Regardless, Weiss had a problem.
And that problem was none other than Ruby Rose.
Or;
Even if someone wanted something, that doesn't necessarily mean that they deserve it. Weiss knew this intimately.
