In a world where he’s finally gotten his chance to be with Bucky, and where “when you mess with time, it tends to mess back,” why would Steve Rogers stay in the past after returning the Infinity Stones? Bucky, Sharon, Natasha, Steve and Peggy each see part of the web of events behind the scenes.

This is a rewrite of an unabandoned fic.
The story behind the story, set to an 80's soundtrack, keeping as canonical as possible.
Shawn & Carlton find themselves questioning everything & learning to cope when a hallway interaction gets more heated than usual; even reunions, daredevils, & bomb-scares can't stop them from coming to new conclusions about themselves. Romance begins to build when both realize they need to work through their pasts for the sake of their futures. After a betrayal & some soul-searching about why he sucks at relationships, Shawn clues in to his crush on Lassie. After Lassie has a bad day & a lot of Scotch, he comes up with a plan to change things for what he hopes is the better.
