Everything about John is unexpected and this is no exception: Sherlock has fallen for him.From a prompt I filled eons ago on Sherlock BBC Prompting Meme:
"Sherlock wanted a romantic relationship with Mycroft, but his brother denied him. He did it for Sherlock's good, to not make him any more antisocial and not because he wasn't interested. Sherlock hates him for that.
Now John Watson came and with it a possibility that Sherlock will actually find himself a lover.
Somehow Mycroft is not glad at all."

"Marc," Steven began hesitantly. He braved a glance in the mirror at his alter, who was looking at him again with those same tired eyes that matched his stern expression wonderfully. "I want to try dating... um..." He paused and spooned some more milk over the cereal. "Yeah," He decided when he couldn't figure out what to add. "I've been thinking about dating. I want to try." His reflection, Marc, said nothing. But the widening of his dark eyes communicated enough.
"Right," Steven coughed when the silence became too long for comfort. "That's all."

Summary
The two of them used to go here together almost every weekend, Crowley tending to the garden, Aziraphale writing in the cosy study. Then they went alone. Keen on avoiding each other, they’d taken turns. But when the failure of their marriage became too obvious and too painful, Aziraphale stopped. Judging by the garden’s state, Crowley hasn’t been here either.
