Summary
Test tube, right before a summer vacation with her friends, stumbles upon an accident outside of the elevator and it turns out that Trophy's gotten his wrist broken-- and is stuck with the Flu, unluckily enough.
Since majority of the hotel will be absent, on their own travels-- Test tube decides on the most unlikely person to keep an eye on him so he won't get himself into further trouble. That person happens to be Mephone, who doesn't even want to be there.

Tang had the best idea.
It was dangerous. Life-threatening, even. Ah, but wasn’t he supposed to be developing into less of a coward? He was destined to try this.
He leaned against the counter of Pigsy’s Noodles, watching Pigsy stir a pot of fresh broth. Pigsy’s back was to Tang, determined to ignore Tang the way someone would ignore a begging dog.
Well. Tang would show him.
Sniffing, Tang drummed his fingers on his countertop. “That’s odd,” he commented.
Pigsy didn’t even bother to turn his head. “What’s odd?”
“It’s your broth.” Tang frowned. “Oh dear, I think the flavor may be off.”
Pigsy gasped. He raised the ladle to his own lips, sipping off of it. “You’re out of your mind, it’s perfect as always! Pah. Me, making anything subpar?”
It pained him to lie. “No no, I really think it’s not got enough salt,” insisted Tang.
“Oh, and you think you can tell by your sense of smell?” Pigsy slopped noodles, broth, vegetables, and beef into the dish, managing to not spill a drop. He shoved it down the counter at Tang. “How’s it feel to be wrong, Tang?”
Tang barely kept his joyful reaction under wraps. All according to plan.

She had to let go before Zooble ripped her forearms clean off. Zooble swiped through the tablet almost angrily as they muttered, “I don’t even know what you’re so pressed about. It’s not like your derby rider was that pretentious about – ”
Zooble cut themself off and went very, very silent.
Pomni’s mouth went dry. Dryer than it’d been even after a stress of time without real water. She watched, scared for a reason she couldn’t place, as both of Zooble’s detachable eyes widened. She could have sworn that their hot pink face turned almost salmon for a quick second before returning to its original shade. They set down the tablet and turned.
“Ragatha,” they said slowly, “why does the catalogue of NPCs include a mock-up of Jax?”

Unsure of herself, Connie moved to wipe her fingers on the hem of her t-shirt, only to stop short when Daryl shook his head and signed, “No, sorry, I’ll leave, sorry.” His eyes kept shifting about, uncomfortable, and Connie felt horrible that all she could do was stare at his thick fingers, her mind lingering on the sinful thoughts she had only minutes before. Daryl had strong, handsome hands. She wanted those fingers in her mouth.
Hands shaking, core aching, Connie signed, “Please.” She half regretted the movement of her flat hand against her chest as her fingers grazed her bare nipples beneath her shirt. Connie swallowed and continued, aware of the way Daryl was watching her with his dark eyes. “Stay.”
Daryl glanced at her hands, as though he didn’t quite believe the words she was signing, before signing back, “You sure?”

Everything is going just fine until Connie kisses him.
One moment everything is great, and the next Daryl is flinching away, eyes scrunching shut as he step-stumbles back. He’s dealt with a lot of shit since the dead decided to get back up and strut their stuff, but for some reason, this is what shocks him. Freezes him, too. Usually he can react pretty quickly when he’s spooked—-it’s the reason he’s still alive—-but not with this. He stays flinched for a good second, too, before finally loosening his tense muscles and looking back to Connie.
“What’re you doin’?”
