“Your highness?” it was nothing more than a whisper, but it scared Xie Lian to his core. He screamed, whipping his head in the voice’s direction.
There, between the legs of dozens of unimpressed pedestrians, stood a man wearing crimson clothes.
Blood. There was blood everywhere. Xie Lian could only see seas of red. He had found him.
Before another word could escape the youth’s mouth, Xie Lian scrambled away, fear itching itself to his skin. A raw, curling scream roared out of his throat.
But then, darkness embraced the poor man, leaving the crimson-clothed stranger alone, with Xie Lian sprawled in his solid and protective arms.
TLDR: Xie Lian navigates divorce, loneliness and PTSD while learning to love and trust others.
