At twenty one years old, Zuko is still in his journey to find the Avatar so he can go back home, except that home stops being the Fire Nation and becomes a person when a lady from the Earth Kingdom, Toph Beifong is sent by his father to be his wife.
Toph Beifong did not dream that ten days after turning eighteen she would be betrayed and sent to the middle of the sea to marry the Banished Prince from the Fire Nation, Zuko. And she definetly didn't tought of finding love in a marriage like that. Oh, well.

When Zuko received the news that Kanto and Toph had broken up, he immediately abandoned all his responsibilities in Royal Caldera to visit his childhood friend in Republic City. This may have seemed a tad overboard to his subordinates in the council, considering a friend’s breakup didn’t seem like a big deal. But the Gaang knew better, and if Zuko was right, the rest must also be on their way after hearing the news.
Toph is alone. And pregnant.
