"The Muses doesn’t sympathise me enough to for a drink with me tonight, my junior." Al-Haitham hummed in acknowledgement as Kaveh continued on. He pats the chair right of him in the bar isle. "You sympathise about me right, Haitham?" He pleads to Al-Haitham.

Ever since he was a child, Kaveh had always felt emotions deeply. His mother would always call him a ‘wonderful, sensitive boy’, but could never understand when Kaveh’s sadness was no less than despair, when his happiness bubbled into euphoria, when his anger would explode into unwarranted fury.

Kaveh raises his hands, palms up. "I have nothing to give, Al-Haitham," he says, and the other's eyes grow fierce.
"You do not have nothing, Kaveh," Al-Haitham says roughly. "You may have buried yourself in your self-doubt, but you are relentless. You shine even when the moon takes governance of the sky."
Kaveh gapes at Al-Haitham. "So what I'm hearing," he says slowly, "is that you will not kick me out for the time being."
"What you're hearing is that I will wait for you," says Al-Haitham.
After all this time, Kaveh has yet to unpack his bags.

“How unfortunate for you to have someone that cares about your wellbeing.”
Kaveh laughed. “Is that what it is now? I wasn’t just disturbing your sleep?”
“Believe what you like.” It was both. Unfortunately for Alhaitham, he did care about Kaveh’s wellbeing, which is why he chose to do things like this. But it seemed no matter how often Alhaitham explicitly stated this, Kaveh would brush it off. It was a dance they had done for years, and Alhaitham didn’t make any more effort to make Kaveh understand he was serious. Kaveh wouldn’t believe him, or he would choose not to. It wouldn’t change anything if Kaveh believed it. Alhaitham would still be going through the motions of getting him to sleep in his bed on nights like this. They would still be having the same arguments. This was just another thing that had become a fact for Alhaitham about his life. Alhaitham cared about Kaveh. He would continue to care about him and for him, and Kaveh would continue to dismiss it. This was a fact that Alhaitham had learned to accept, ignoring the annoying twinge of pain that came with it.
