Summary
White-hot grease burns are a hell of a thing, and Zim had to put his mission on hold to take care of himself, bandaging himself up in his medbay and dragging himself to bed, passing out in a painkiller-induced haze to the sound of his PAK whirring as it worked overtime to mend his wounds and fully repair his nerve endings. After a month of bedrest, things were going well— Zim had begun to walk around the inner base on his own, face screwed into a relatively neutral expression, because it was not befitting of a trained Irken soldier to hobble around his own base, whining in pain like a smeet!

Summary
Zim damages his PAK in a lab accident. It’s certainly nothing to worry about... as long as the Tallest send him those replacement parts before it starts seriously affecting his health. Zim’s injury and the resulting increase in his strange behavior inevitably sets Dib off, and his increasing suspicion and paranoia leads to an event that tips the delicate balance of their conflict wildly out of Zim’s favor. One way or another, everything is about to change.

Summary
Over a decade after the Florpus Hole incident, Dib and Zim have settled into a strange friendship that's taken them off-world and into the depths of space, debunking myths and defeating monsters (for a reasonable price, of course). After a close call for Dib in a previous expedition, Zim has picked up the perfect odd-job: low risk, high pay, nothing that would jeopardize his traveling companion's wellbeing, not that he's worried about it. Unfortunately, Zim's inability to read the fine print leads to a crustacean-themed catastrophe. With Zim's PAK malfunctioning and his life in danger, both human and Irken will have to confront past traumas if they want to make it off the planet alive.

He remembered, with dawning horror, being shot.
Maybe 20 times, nearly simultaneously, from the same automatic weapon. A brief glance up and down his torso confirmed the memory. Small holes, blackened around the edges, littered the front plate of his uniform, and he could feel warm blood soaking into his undershirt. One of the bullets, he knew for certain, had pierced one of his pulmonary organs.
He should’ve been dead.

OR: Zim vanishes off the face of the planet to fight in an Irken war, and it’s up to Dib to leave Earth and save the Irken. Angst ensues.

When every rational thing in his soul should have been screaming with victory, here he was having a goddamn panic attack, on his hands and knees in the blood of someone he thought he wanted dead, and the corpse was sparking, of all things for a corpse to do, and the undiluted horror of a life-changing fuck up crushed his heart into nothing. For a moment, unconscious and bone-deep, he did not want to live in a world in which this was reality.

Summary
Zim had been thinking about sex lately.
Irkens didn’t think about sex, they had sex, and then they returned back to doing more important things, like killing aliens. Not like humans, who made it an industry unto itself to think about sex. To court and preen and prepare for it, to condemn and ostracise for it, to idolise and yearn and lament for it. And somewhere in all that mess, there was also love mixed in, as had been explained to Zim by blushing Dib.
Which eventually led to Zim standing in a flower shop, wondering if he was doing a horrible mistake, while purchasing a ridiculous number of roses.Zim's squuedilyspooch has been getting tingly around Dib, and he decides that if Dib doesn't make the first move, he will. The fact that Zim's experiences about what sex should look like come from the human internet and the irken power-obsessed rape-culture almost gets in the way.
