Derek wakes the day after the dinner with a piercing migraine and an aching body. With nothing to do but think, he starts delving deep into his thoughts and wonders what purpose he has.
Avery does not let this slide.

Summary
Ze stares at the ceiling. It’s wooden, just like everything else in this house. Endless repeating wooden slats(torches and bedrock and torches and bedrock and…). Over, and over, and over again(and over and over and over and over…). A tiny bug crawls over one slat.
Ze slowly taps his fingers on his stomach. The (once-soft, now rough) fabric of his tee(once white, now gray) bunches every so often beneath his fingers.
He can hear his breathing(breathing and alive and human and alive) and he can see, in the corners of his eyes, his chest rise and fall(alive alive alive). His left nostril is stopped up(pollen? Is there pollen here?) and it whistles when he breathes in.

Ze struggles with depression, self-loathing, and trauma from the Down Under. Love doesn't save him, but it helps.
