Summary
As young un-bonded omegas before and during the war, Steve and Bucky used to nest together to help with their synced heats. After two out of three helicarriers sucessfully carry out Project Insight, Steve finds himself in hiding with a barely recognisable Bucky. Steve's lost, unable to do more than focus on keeping Bucky safe while HYDRA uses the panic created by Insight to secretly take over the US government. Steve doesn't know how they got away after he passed out on Insight C, and the bondscar on Bucky's neck is only one more thing Bucky won't talk about.
Then HYDRA-backed legislation makes it illegal for omegas to buy heat-suppressants and Steve comes home to discover the identity of the Winter Soldier's alpha under the worst possible circumstances - with Bucky knotted and nonverbal. There's no way to fight and no chance to run, and the alpha has a proposition for Steve.
With Project Insight off the ground, supersoldiers aren't as necessary as they used to be. Steve and Bucky can be left as they were found... IF Steve agrees to let the alpha try to breed both of them.

This is the first of a series of essays I wish to write on the Gender Politics of Sherlock fandom. There are many things I wanted to say at the official panel but was unable to, since it was derailed by a group of individuals who showed up with the intention of intimidating and harassing the panel moderator. In future essays, I’d like to share my thoughts on femslash, Mary Sues and the fridging of female characters, on heteronormativity in slash, and on queer representation beyond slash (bisexual, pansexual, asexual and trans people in fanworks and fan spaces). I’d like to touch on race and being a queer Woman of Color in a fandom mostly interested in White male characters.
Before I get to those subjects, however, I feel a need to return to the original intended topic: the essay I began writing on my phone on the plane.
And that essay is on the subject of noncon fanworks.

"HYDRA's scientists had been delighted to find their serum-reversal procedure had worked. Their jubilation was dampened by the discovery that Steve's smaller self might no longer be Captain America-sized but was still 100% Steve Rogers, and Steve Rogers was now mad enough to spit nails. A minor oversight in the design of the containment area meant that smaller-Steve had simply wriggled out of the now ridiculously-oversized restraints like an angry ferret escaping a paper bag, and punched the nearest technician in the nuts.
Chaos ensued."
HYDRA scientists successfully de-serum Captain America, only to discover that they are utterly unprepared for Steve Rogers. Meanwhile, the Winter Soldier follows his instructions to the letter. This works out just great.

If Harry had to guess which out of he or his Auror Partner, and tentative new friend, Draco Malfoy, would turn out to have Veela ancestry, his answer would be: neither, because that is ridiculous. Finding out the answer is actually him, and that his Veela heritage is wreaking havoc on his ability to work, sleep, and above all be in the same room as Malfoy, is a surprise to say the least. But this is fine. Harry’s been through worse, and he can just sit this one out, regardless of how much his body is screaming for the one person he doesn’t want to ask for help. Can’t he?
