Summary
Dean’s days used to begin with darkness. With screams, or silent tears. Now, of course, living in a bunker makes natural sunlight hard to wake up to, but when Cas moved into Dean’s room, he brought his sun lamp. That fixed everything. The darkness washed away with Cas’ lamp, and the tears wiped away with Cas’ gentle hand.
This morning, their room begins to light up around 7am, but Dean and Cas are already awake, tangled into each other. They trade lazy kisses and laughter as gentle as the touches that accompany.
“Happy anniversary,” Cas whispers into Dean’s hair, and Dean pulls Cas closer.

His subconscious faces it for him. Cas helps, kind of.

Summary
Dean comes back, like Cas knew he would. Dean comes back to him, finally. And Cas can't help but to give, and give, and give. Until he really, genuinely, cannot. Then Dean takes care of him.
(You can read this without having read Frozen Fire, but I suggest reading that first! It makes this make a lot more sense. <3)

Summary
Dean catches himself nearly grinning, wistful as he glances around. His eyes catch on something orange, taped to the inside of the fountain and lightly splattered with water from it.
It says, “DEAN,” in Cas’ big, slanted, fancy-ass handwriting.

Summary
Cas convinced him to do this. It was Sam’s idea, but Cas convinced him. Spray paint his hair in blue, purple, and pink. Wear the blue, pink, and white flag that usually hung over their bed on his shoulders.
“Dean, it’s called pride for a reason,” Cas had said, kissing the spot on his tummy that had recently begun to grow soft. “I want you to show your pride. Dean, I want you to be proud of yourself. Nevertheless, it’ll be fun. You never get to see the nocturnal animals during the day. Jack’ll love it.”

Summary
Magic is real, but seriously illegal. People who are born with it are hunted; they are constantly at danger of being apprehended, jailed, or even executed. Luckily, decades ago, Castiel’s family dug out a large bunker, slowly adding to its size as magical people came from all over to join and hide out. They called it The Sanctuary.

Summary
There’s a lot of thing Dean shouldn’t be doing.
He shouldn’t be standing half-naked just inside the door to Cas’s bedroom. He shouldn’t have taken that fourth shot. Shouldn’t have stumbled over here in a brief lapse of judgment, shouldn’t have stripped himself of his shirt and jacket to face the brief walk in the biting air of November.
He shouldn’t have had to watch Lucifer walk away, wearing his brother. He shouldn’t have had to set up this camp for wayward strangers and fuckups, he shouldn’t have sunk down into this hatred of life and all the self-loathing that came with it. He shouldn’t have killed that kid today.
And he shouldn’t have yelled at Cas.

Summary
“Man, look—you make fun of me for doing girly things like—like eating vegetables, or whatever, right?" Sam says. "And I’m still a guy. I feel like a guy."
“I don’t even know what that means, dude,” Dean replies, taking a pull from his beer. “I’m just a dude because… ‘cause I am.”
“Yeah, but also ‘cause you feel like it.” Sam insists. Then he frowns at him, studying his face. “You... You don’t… feel like a guy all the time?”
Or, Dean and Gender: a Chronology.

Summary
As a grease monkey turned college freshman, Dean's constantly three seconds away from being stressed out of his mind. It hardly helps that he's finally figuring out his sexuality in his thirties.
What might help with that stress is a little phone number (and a big credit card bill). If he can't figure out how to be bisexual in person, he can at least give it a go over the phone, right?
(It's probably a bad idea, but he really can't help himself.)

Summary
Stay away from the light-beds. Stay in the deep.
It is the first thing hatchlings are taught the moment their fans unfurl and they can swim without their parents to buoy them along. It is the first rule, the first law. It is the beginning of every boogey-monster bedtime story told when they settle against the cliffs to sleep.
Castiel should have listened better.

Summary
They name her Claire. It means bright and clear, and she is certainly a light in Jimmy’s life. He is beginning to understand those who want to be fathers--because there is no one more precious than Claire. The silence, the cavern inside of him, is deafening, but when he is with his daughter, in the late night hours in her nursery with a bottle, it feels a little bit fuller.
