Summary
The Shire is spread out at Bilbo’s feet like a green duvet that stretches out as far as the eye can see. The air is full of birdsong and the indistinct murmur of a small town; conversation, laughter, and squabbling all blending together into a single cohesive whole.
Bilbo stands on young strong legs without thinking and takes three shaking steps away from the polished flagstone that makes up the front step of Bag End.
There is Farmer Maggot driving a herd of geese to market and there, there is Hamfast Gamgee tramping down Bagshot Row looking like a tween again with a flask of Gamgee rotgut poking out his back pocket. He is surrounded by faces and voices he knows, all of whom should be older and altered. Many of which should be dead.
‘Is this the undying land?’ Bilbo wonders and pinches himself. It feels real. It feels too real. If feels… familiar.
Bilbo gets sent back from the Undying Lands for one last try. Sometimes perspective makes all the difference.

Summary
After the Battle of Five Armies, Bilbo lies as still as death, and no earthly force will wake him. When a ghostly apparition offers Thorin the chance to recover Bilbo's absent spirit from the underworld, he accepts without hesitation.
So begins the second Quest of Thorin's lifetime.
Through half-remembered dreams and terrifying nightmares, beyond strange worlds to stranger shores, the Heirs of Durin will tirelessly, doggedly search for their burglar.
This is their task, their penance: find Bilbo, or else be condemned to wander forever more, never to return home.

Summary
"Thorin was the essence of so many Buckland oddities, distilled into one misfortunate young hobbit, much to his infinite embarrassment.
Built like a stork, his father had said once, in an example of Thrain Brandybuck’s usual tactless humour. All beak and legs."
Thorin Brandybuck, just recently come of age, still lives in his family’s smial in Buckland, with his parents and two younger siblings. Thorin is an odd duck amongst his relations and neighbours-- unsociable, grumpy, shy, and awkward. And beyond that, he looks rather strange even for a Bucklander, strongly favouring the thick, dark haired build of his Stoorish blood.
It defies all sense and reason why Bilbo Baggins, an exemplar of all the respectable traits Thorin lacked, would ever desire a friendship with him.
Bilbo, as Thorin discovers, is not always as sensible as he appears.

Summary
This is Erebor on the cusp of history.
Thorin, son of Thráin, son of Thrór walks the battlement of the great gates of Erebor. A roaring wind comes down from the north, trees bend and creak under its force. On the gate and down in Dale, all gaze at the sky as if waiting...
The storm passes and Smaug never comes.
Erebor never falls. Dale never burns. Dwarves travel west in search of wealth, not sanctuary, and the Company of Thorin Oakenshield never forms. The wizard never plots (well... not precisely never...) and a perfectly respectable hobbit never hosts an unexpected party. But an adventure will be had. For the sake of an orphan, propriety will be set aside, mountains will be climbed, forests will be traversed and lakes will be sailed. A hobbit will come to The Lonely Mountain where sickness has been left to fester and grow and shadows lay waiting...

Summary
The next time he visits his parents there are flowers left in the grass, pressed back against the gravestone. They are yellow and white daffodils, plain and wilting.
“Who’s been to see you?” He asks, taking a single photo of the flowers with their drooping stems and curled petals and the wet winter grass that surrounds them. His mother would call it kind, his father might say it's curious, and Bilbo takes another petal to tuck into his pocket.

Summary
Thorin survived the Battle of Five Armies, but at a terrible cost. Seeing the challenges he faced, Bilbo chose to endure a harsh winter in Erebor and help Durin’s Folk begin the long struggle to rebuild their newly reclaimed home.
Fifty years later, Bilbo has just adopted his young cousin Frodo when Thorin arrives at Bag End for a long-overdue visit, proving that Bilbo's stories of kings, heroism, and adventure aren't as distant as Frodo and his friends might have thought. But Bilbo is still haunted by memories from decades before, and hesitates to take his new heir on what could prove to be a risky journey.
But when some surprising news arrives from Erebor, he is forced to admit that adventure might not be finished with him just yet.

Summary
All Bilbo Baggins wanted was to have have a decent job while he worked on getting his graduate degree in psychology. Moria Asylum seemed like the best place for that-until he met Thorin Oakenshield, an erratic and violent schizophrenic, who only seems to obey Bilbo for whatever reason and claims to be in love with him. Bilbo isn't finding Thorin's attraction toward him romantic whatsoever. However, uncovering a conspiracy to keep Thorin locked away to bury a disturbing truth about the head psychologist forces Bilbo to take action against Moria Asylum.
Based on this prompt from tumblr: “Thorin Oakenshield was an esteemed businessman who thought he avoided the strain of madness that ran through his family until delusion and paranoia forced him into psychiatric care. He becomes singularly obsessed with an orderly named Bilbo Baggins, claiming the man is his Arkenstone. Thorin will go to any length to possess Bilbo, because if he cannot then no one can.”

Summary
Bilbo is a harried 1st year British literature Ph.D. (early 20th century fiction) who happens to have an interest in spatial narrative structures, a lack of time-management skills, and a tiny apartment with a lot of books and very little furniture. He’s stressed, always, and doesn't quite know where he belongs. He tells himself that really, this is, in fact, what he wants to be doing. But sometimes, as much as he loves books, he gets an urge to do something with his hands.
Thorin is a disgruntled M.Arch. 1 in his last year who can’t be arsed to shave and frightens his students, and, frankly, his profs, but his work is top-notch so no one can really say much. They can, however, bully him into running a hands-on design workshop on Saturday mornings, which is complete crap, because he’s used to drinking his Friday nights into oblivion so showing up at Milstein at 7:45 the next morning and trying to teach in a room of wall-to-wall windows as the sun rises is not at the top of his list. Besides, no one ever shows up.
Except one morning, someone does.
