Prince Ilya, after losing his family in a terrible plague, becomes cold-hearted and cruel to those around him, going as far as to cast out an old crone in the winter's cold. As punishment, he is cursed by an Enchantress on the day of his coronation as king to take the form of a horrifying beast. He has until the clock strikes midnight on his 30th birthday to love and be loved in return, lest he is doomed to be a beast the rest of his days.
Shane Hollander is a commoner living in a provincial town, seen as "odd" for not fitting in with the rest of the community and for spurning the advances of Dallas Kent, who wants Shane to join his household and be his "happy little husband". He yearns for something more in his life, but struggles to know exactly what that is.
Things change when Shane travels with his mother to sell their wares at the capital, and they get lost at Castle Rozanov. When they are arrested for trespassing, Shane offers to take the burden of his mother's crime, letting her go free as he takes a lifetime of imprisonment by King Ilya Rozanov.

Summary
After Ilya visits Shane in the hospital after his injury on the ice and then loses the playoffs to the New York Admirals, he is understandably lost and upset about the future. He worries about his and Shane's relationship ever feeling "real", he's reeling from his loss against New York, and worried about what the "future" will hold for him, or if he even wants a future in the first place.
Things change when a mysterious woman named "Fayt" gives Ilya a tarot reading that's too much for mere coincidence, and the very next day, Ilya realizes he is living May 7, 2017, over and over again in a never-ending time loop.
While at first he feels unbearably alone, with nobody but him reliving this terrible day, he soon realizes that he's not the only one reliving the same day over and over again. Shane is also experiencing this same day in a loop, and he and Ilya are the only two people in the world who seem to realize it and can remember the events that happen each day.
The only problem? Shane is in Ottawa, and Ilya is in Boston. Finally, the two have an endless amount of time to be together, but 700 KM separates them, and each morning, they will wake up without each other again.

Summary
For some reason, everyone has a terrible first impression of Ilya Rozanov. Many have an outlandish hatred of him, distrust him, or think he's a terrible fit for Shane Hollander in one way or another. They see him as the villain in Shane's love story, regardless of Shane's many objections to the contrary.
Unfortunately for them, they couldn't be more wrong about Ilya, and each and every one of them is going to slowly come to realize what a good man he is, firsthand, as Ilya worms his way into their hearts and minds.

Omega Shane is is a traveling apothecary, who came to Winterhaven seeking knowledge of herbs and the hopes of temporary shelter from the winter to come. He's a man who has wandered for most of his life, fleeing a past of abuse, violence, and rejection. All because he refuses to placate Alphas with half-truths and lies, and instead always speaks his mind, especially when the lives of others are on the line because of foolish pride.
