Summary
Dragons are fire made flesh. Targaryens claim themselves closer to gods than men, being that they alone could command such beasts. Viserys, often teased for his mild disposition, was never once likened to a dragon. Yet, it was he, rather than his hot-headed brother or judicious cousin, that was blessed with a dream.
A self-indulgent fic for all the supporters of the Green Faction. This story follows Viserys as he reflects upon his deceased wife, gets a second chance to find love with his second wife, and starts his relationships with his children over. It's not really a 'bashing' fic, but it doesn't pay much kindness to Daemon, Rhaenyra or Aemma. This is purely for plot-driving purposes.There are many fics hailing Aemma as Mother Mary, and Rhaenyra as Jesus come again. Go read one of them if the tags get you salty. I take what I want from the books and show and twist the rest. No AI, and I do the proofreading myself... so, sorry if it sucks.

It is a quality, well-written Team Green fic that actually doesn't make the romance the whole point of the plot and keeps track of it. Like, romance is all fine and good, but I personally appreciate plot a bit more, and this keeps track of it. The author's book knowledge is a bonus. As an aside, I highly recommend reading the books before writing an HOTD fanfic rather than watching the show. One page of the book is better than entire seasons of the show. Just trust me on this. You'll thank me later :)

Tyland Lannister has already given everything to the realm.

Aemond wants to feel sorry for himself, but Rhaena Targaryen has to be the most unlucky girl in the world, and he feels a little bad about his part in her misfortune. Just a little. Mutilation is not the best starting point for a friendship, or a marriage, or any kind of relationship, really, but Aemond is an expert at making do.

...Or, why no one in the entire Seven Kingdoms believes Aemond Targaryen when he says that Vhagar ate Luke by accident.
