“Why are we staring at ourselves?” I ask, standing behind you. You blink at the question and I make a funny face in the mirror and it is so easy for both of us to pretend like we are a few days younger. It is so easy for me to scrunch my lips up like a duck and pretend like the world is not a rotten place, and we have been created for a reason to be something other than rotten people.
You shrug your shoulders, but your hand comes up to the bags underneath your eyes and leaves them shiny. “‘Dunno.”

Summary
Mephone has been gone for months, disappearing shortly after Microphone and Test tube’s eliminations. With no contact from him, or anyone else, the final four are left to their own devices while they wait for their host to return, kept within the bounds of the game show in fear of elimination.
That is, until a large storm approaches the island, forcing Knife, Lightbulb, Baseball, and Suitcase to all travel back to the hotel and shelter there until it passes. The hotel residents welcome them back with open arms, though something brews just beneath the surface- unfinished business and fragile emotions come to light as everyone is forced together, trapped by the raging storm outside.
