Summary
Will Byers and Jane Hopper have spent almost their entire lives in California. They have friends, plans for junior year, and a life they've built together. Then everything changes.
When Joyce and Hopper announce they're moving the family back to Hawkins, Indiana, Will and Jane are forced to leave behind everyone they care about for a town Will barely remembers and neither of them wants to call home.
As they struggle to adjust to small-town life, new schools, and the ghosts of Will's past, an unexpected trip to the local grocery store introduces them to three boys who might make Hawkins a little easier to survive.
Between awkward first meetings, new friendships, old memories, and feelings neither of them expected, Will and Jane begin to discover that sometimes the places we never wanted to return to can become home all over again.

Summary
Mike is shy, awkward, and overthinks everything, while Will is charismatic, well-liked, and seems completely out of Mike's league. They first properly meet when Mike helps Will carry a canvas, and ever since then Mike can't stop thinking about him. Through their mutual friends, especially Max, Lucas, and Dustin they keep ending up in the same places, whether it's hanging out in dorms, parties, or game nights.
As Mike spends more time around Will, he's caught between excitement and insecurity. Every glance, conversation, and small interaction feels significant to him, while he's constantly trying to figure out what Will thinks of him. Meanwhile, Will seems drawn to Mike too, showing flashes of jealousy and interest that suggest there might be more beneath his confident exterior. As their friend groups become intertwined, both boys find themselves navigating college life, new friendships, and growing feelings that neither of them fully knows how to handle.

"Shut up," Lucas snaps, but his voice is tight, like he's distracted. "Mike, look. We have a... situation."
Mike follows their gazes and freezes. On the floor, in the exact spot where Will was sitting, is a small, fluffy brown bunny. It's sitting perfectly still, its ears twitching slightly, and it's looking up at Mike with big eyes.
For a second, his brain short-circuits. "Did... did someone bring a rabbit down here?"
"No," Dustin says slowly. "That's Will."
Mike blinks. "What."
