Summary
The king has a hole in his heart.
A man is but a dustgrain in the palm of god, thus it must simply be within the confines of a King's moira to suffer for his country. Heavy is the head, after all. But has the young king not suffered enough? Zuko wonders how much more of himself he has left to give before he withers to ash.
Then he makes a friend (shocking). She is a girl with no past and no future and is ensnared in enough secrets to bury her alive. And, in the way the bull knows the name of its slayer before it is calved, so too is he certain that this girl will be the key to breaking this curse.
