Summary
Percy takes Fleurette with him to England, leaving her father, Chauvelin, behind to follow them. Percy has won all, and cannot understand why he feels dissatisfied, until Marguerite helps him to see. Together they wait, but Chauvelin doesn’t come. It’s the summer of 1794, and the French Revolution is about to end in chaos, turning the country on its head and putting Chauvelin's life in sudden peril. Percy hurries back to Dauphiné to find him, only to learn that he has been captured, and that when the soldiers came, Chauvelin greeted them with relief. Now Percy is going to have to save his old enemy from a country that hates him, and from his own despair.

Alternate Universe/History - Napoleon has been exiled to a small town near the boarder of Wales with a small court of the loyal few who followed him out of France.
In a (possibly reckless) attempt to change fate, Napoleon accepts a rather questionable deal with the dead: if he joins the ranks of mazzeri, or Corsican dream hunters, he will be granted the opportunity to return to France. Meanwhile, a child goes missing in the village, the godson of the Duke of Wellington, prompting the Prince of Waterloo to come to Linwood in an attempt to provide whatever help he can to his friends.
But, not all is what it seems as events spiral out of control bringing disappearances, magic and fairies with ominous intentions for all.

Humanity celebrated that they would not lose their shepherd and that he would command them still; that he would guide humanity until the last human drew their breath. The media and the public were overjoyed.
They didn't know the true story of the Luminary's imprisonment.
