“Lex is making me go with him to Gotham,” – was probably not the best way for Kon to start his conversation with Red Robin on that fine afternoon in the Tower. His Robin paused, before he looked up at the floating half-Kryptonian from where he was solving random case-files that most detectives hadn’t been able to crack for decades, probably. Rob was crazy like that - not like Kon was complaining, Rob’s brain was probably one of Kon’s favourite things about him.
(Alongside his hair. And hands. And waist. And–)
Or: Kon goes to Gotham. Tim knows that Kon is Superboy, Kon doesn't know that Red Robin is Tim.
This could only go well for the two of them, right?

Summary
Tim liked Conner. No, he didn't just find his company pleasant and personality amiable as he liked to claim. 10 months after the start of Young Justice, Tim liked Conner, in all the ways that should've been unimportant but weren't.
Tim liked Conner in the schoolboy-squealing-into-his-pillow kind of way,in the heart-fluttering-and-doing-somersaults-every-time-he-looked-at-him kind of way, in the thinking-about-him-when-he-wasn't-able-to-fall-asleep kind of way, in the- well, you get the idea. Tim liked Conner in the way every Omega liked an Alpha, not in the way best friends liked each other.
But time and time again, Conner had proven to see it as the opposite of that. Truth was, he saw Tim as only a friend. Granted, he saw him as a trusted comrade, a genius, and (reluctantly) a good leader too. But above all, he saw Tim as a friend, not boyfriend material.
It would soon be close to an entire year since he'd presented, but he still couldn't find a way to make Kon see him the way he wanted him to.
So like a good Bat, Tim made a plan.

Okay, maybe Tim was much closer to insanity than he first thought.
"You cloned Kon?"
"I'm my own person by the way" came the dry answer of one Col-El, who did look remarkably like the images Tim had seen of Kon.
Wheels turning rapidly, he looked back at the regretful and overtired figure of Timothy.
Discreetly, in a way he hoped Col-El didn’t see, he gestured to the clone. Mouthing, "You need him?" and Timothy just groaned.
