Summary
Calliope Mondegrene has always felt like a bit of an alien among her fellow humans. A nerdy self-proclaimed loser sleepwalking through life in a Bostonian triplex, her introversion seems to be boundless, to the point where it leads her to avoid social interaction at the parties she's forced to attend--by getting really, really, high.
Too high, it turns out, when she sees--and is seen by--something beyond her understanding that, for some unfathomable reason, takes an interest in her sad little life.

Summary
The bond between magical folk and their familiars is as old as the ancestors, as sacred as magic itself, and unbreakable by any means.
Chloe uses her Summer vacation to venture into the woods in hopes of meeting her new best friend forever: her familiar. Other witches of her generation may be uninterested in nature magic, but Chloe's affinity for it only bolsters her belief that she was meant to meet her familiar in the forest.
Blinded by destiny, Chloe performs the familiar bonding spell on an injured wolf that stumbles across her cabin. Except, as fate would have it, it's no ordinary wolf.
