She watched as her best friend, her brother, drew in a deep breath and closed his eyes.
The tall man raised his pale wand, his head tilted to one side as he considered his action. He spoke the words. A green light leapt from him towards her Harry.
She moved. Casting herself forward she spun in front of her brother. Catching herself on his arms that came up automatically to catch hold of her, his eyes flew open to meet her honey brown ones as the spell hit her in the back.
His emerald orbs blew wide with shock as hers, filled with love, met them for the last time.
'There is another way.'
Her thought embedded itself in his mind as the light left her eyes and she went limp in his arms.

Hermione took Draco’s hand in hers, touching him for the first time - she was adamant that slapping his face in third year didn't count. His hand was cool, not sweaty and hot like Ron’s was the few times he tried to hold her hand, and her heart sped up a little when she felt tingles on her skin as he slightly squeezed her hand letting her know he was ready.
‘OK, here we go then.’ She closed her eyes and whispered to herself ‘destination, determination, deliberation’ and with that Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy disappeared from Platform 9 ¾.

As per his last wishes in his will, after the war ended Hermione Granger campaigned for unity between the Muggle and Wizarding Worlds. Harry Potter had stood by her side. How could they fail. But the Muggles had not wanted to live in harmony, they had wanted to destroy what they didn’t understand. By the time Athena was to attend Hogwarts the Wizarding World was operating under martial law, and a new war raged.
Magic was losing.
So, in one of the more Gryffindor decisions of her life Athena Potter chose to assemble The Hallows to summon Death. Her request was to go back.
