He has a lot of memories, both good and bad, silly and funny and ridiculous and a menagerie of all the other colours of life.
In reality, he simply waves Sonic off.
Lets him go wherever his heart will lead him next. Knuckles has his place here and Sonic doesn’t like being chained down, being stuck in one spot. He has a whole world to see and learn like the back of his hand.’
