Summary
There were always too many unhatched dragons. Griffins were scarce and unicorns remained reclusive but the eggs of dragons often littered the landscapes of mountains and plains, shells nigh indestructible and often pebbled like their surroundings. The ancients often lived long, after their initial birth they would hide themselves away or bargain protection for protection from humans. The oldest eggs would produce the strongest and most powerful dragons but age made it harder for the egg to hatch.
Times of war saw the influx of dragons. Only the death of innocents can break the shells of dragons but to many the power of the dragons is not worth the price to pay. But to some, they will achieve their goal. . . at any cost.

Summary
Suzaku Kururugi is twenty three years old when Empress Nunnally vi Britannia calls him into her office with her right hand placed over his helm, as if she were swearing by it, and gently asks him to step down from his position as Zero.
