Summary
In Craig's eyes, the school play was for dorky loners; kids who put themselves out there on stage only to become rejects, a kind of social suicide that's 10 times deadlier if you're a dude. After 16 long years of maintaining a decent standing in the popularity hierarchy, Craig wasn't looking to fuck all of that hard work up, so he stayed as far from the drama department as he could. Craig was a boy that generally tried to keep to himself, to blend into the background, and having a bright spotlight on you while you recite corny lines was in no way conducive to either of those things.
All this to say, the thought of going to another show, much less auditioning for the school play, would have never even crossed Craig's mind.
Then Tweek Tweak came on stage.
Tweek Tweak, who Craig had been helplessly, embarrassingly in love with since around the 9th grade.
OR
Craig decides to audition for his school's production of Romeo and Juliet in an attempt to finally talk to the guy he's in love with.

His attraction to the heir of the last barbarian tribe has done nothing but bring him shame and disappointment. But that doesn't stop him from admiring Tweek, wishing he could see Feldspar as Feldpsar sees him. So, despite how much it kills him inside to travel with the man, he can't bring himself to leave.

Tweek and Craig dated in elementary school until the Tucker's moved out of South Park at the start of middle school.
When they meet once again after ten years apart, Tweek gives a fake name and neither recognizes the other from when they were little. Craig is awkward and nervous in a way he wasn't as a kid, now older with insecurities a child wouldn't have. Tweek is bolder and less spastic than he was as a child, after getting out of South Park gave him time to heal from his childhood. Though both are extremely different from how they were as kids, they're still drawn to one another and love blossoms.

Craig had never been good with dates. He forget birthdays, anniversaries, due dates. You name it, he forgets it. And it never really bothered him, who cares if he forgot a birthday or holiday here and there. That was of course, until he started really dating Tweek Tweak....Eventually Tweek found out about Craig’s habit of forgetting dates and that’s when Tweek offered to begin to keep Craig’s calendar too.
Which is how Craig knew that tomorrow was Tweek’s birthday.
“No, Tweek wouldn’t make a mistake like that,” Craig knows how stressed Tweek gets about the calendar. There’s no way he would make a mistake like that, no fucking way. Unless.
Unless it was on purpose. But why would he do that? Maybe he didn’t want to spend his birthday with Craig. Maybe he was going to break up with him? Does Tweek not love him anymore? As Craig was spiraling, the rest of the group exchanged nervous glances.Bookmarked by YoUsagi
