Summary
It is an Auradon tradition for future rulers to choose a knight to protect and serve them. Red is excited to finally have a knight free from her mother, that is loyal to her. The knight that Red chose though doesn't have much of a choice.

Chloe always dreamt of the fairy tale Happily Ever After of falling in love with a story book prince, and grew up with a very black and white version of right and wrong. Red challenges everything she ever thought she wanted.

(This is a spin off of my other story Red's Descent. For full context of a few of these scenes, you should probably read that one first. This is not a complete rewrite. While I did rewrite some scenes from Chloe's perspective, most are new or continuations from the first story.)
