Summary
When home no longer feels like home, Chilchuck makes the tough decision to move north to escape memories he'd rather leave behind. Though once largely made up of tall-men, there are towns and cities on the northern continent that have opened their doors to races of all kinds, and that seems like the easiest sort of place to try and make a new life. There's even a branch of a tailoring company Chilchuck admires that might be willing to hire him.
Except life outside of a strictly half-foot community is hardly as idyllic as it seems. Everything is too large, and too loud, and getting a good job requires things he couldn't get back home. Then an opportunity falls into Chilchuck's lap—an enthusiastic amateur wildlife photographer offers to pay him for his assistance in capturing pictures of the monsters roaming the countryside. It sounds like a lousy job, but unfortunately, the idea is less bruising to his ego than the other options he has.
There's no telling if this new life will be sustainable. One thing's for certain, though: Chilchuck is lonely, and his eccentric new employer is all too eager to be his friend.

Matt hissed, "Ow," and flinched back when something sharp stung his finger. Tiny made another motion to defend themself and Matt withdrew his arm. "Y'know, most people don't attack the person trying to save them," he said, mildly put out. "I don't want to hurt you. I'm trying to help."
"The hell you are!" Tiny bellowed with all the ferocity contained in their little body. It was an unexpectedly Herculean amount. "Who set the traps in the first place, huh? Then you come in tryin' to snatch me up like a damn claw machine. 'Help' my ass!"
"I am trying to help. I'm sorry about the traps - really, I am. I thought I got all of them out. I'm truly sorry. Will you let me fix this? Without stabbing me again? Please?"
A contemplative silence fell over the two. It was only respectful to ask: as someone who'd been stabbed and shot and hit more times than he could remember, Matt could handle a poke or two. But he didn't like being grabbed without his consent - why would someone who's just a few inches tall?

A glass wall materialized in front of him.
TONK! was the sound it made as his body bounced off.
"Fuck, ow," Atom hissed, holding his nose. He stumbled back, only to hit another glass wall. He braced himself against it and looked up. Fingers stretched around him like the legs of a massive spider, meeting together in the palm above. The hand released its hold on his prison and moved aside, revealing the bearded face that loomed overhead.
Atom's knees became jelly. His insides churned. His throat closed. Something primal flared inside of him, freezing his body in place and locking his gaze onto the figure that towered so high above that Atom felt dizzy.
"I have so many questions," the doctor said, and then blinked rapidly. "Whoa. Deja vu."

Summary
Twenty years ago, enormous aliens invaded and conquered the Earth, killing off nearly two-thirds of the human population and subjugated the survivors.
However, there have been many groups of humans who have managed to escape from under the thumb of these aliens, and have remained hidden from the watchful Shenirian eyes. As such, "campaigns" are routinely held to find those humans and eradicate them before they have a chance to rebuild, or worse, develop formidable rebellion groups.
Mazel is a young Shenirian soldier who is tasked with a special campaign mission. When one underground human settlement is discovered to have vast amounts of energy radiating in it, he must embark on a covert mission to infiltrate the humans' hideout incognito and discover what exactly the humans have done to warrant such unease among his superiors. At the same time; his loyalties are put to the test when he begins to realize that not everything is as what it seems with not only the humans, but the Shenirian agenda as well.
