Summary
It’s just a brush of her lips against his cheek, not unlike the painting in front of them; and maybe it’s because of this similarity, or maybe it’s because of something else entirely, but when she pulls away with a demure, “Good night, Jack. Thanks for everything,” he reaches for her instinctively, his hand catching her wrist.

Summary
Dr. John Shen has always been confident, sharp, and just a little too charming. But the way he starts orbiting Mel King feels different. Intentional.
Most people brush it off.
Frank Langdon doesn’t. And the longer it goes on, the harder it becomes for him to ignore the truth he doesn’t want to face.

Summary
It was six in the morning, and Jesse had slipped to his locker to dig out the pack of American Spirits he’d bought a couple months ago and tucked away for these exact moments. If he was going to spend 24 hours at work, what were a couple cigarettes going to do? Go big or go home, he supposed, as he leaned against the wall of the ambulance bay and fought against the cheap, finicky Bic lighter that had sat for so long it had collected dust. He sighed contentedly after the first long inhale, a rare indulgence he only allowed himself sporadically, and allowed the cool brick to take on his weight just as he caught sight of Mel approaching. “Early day, Doctor King?”

Summary
His mother told him to slow down the moment he had learned how to walk properly. His own father told him to slow down when he sat behind the wheel for the first time. Abby told him to slow down when he took yet another shift at the hospital, leaving her and kids at home. Dana told him all the time to slow down with the amount of red bull he drank.
Even after all of this, Frank Langdon has never really learned how to take it slowly in his life. Not until one particular day in July at least.

“Jesus, Mel,” His right hand moved back again towards the braid and left hand immediately appeared on her left cheek, “Tell me if you want to stop because we can and I don’t want to make you uncomfortable when-” He didn’t get a chance to finish because Mel leaned forward and kissed him.
Mel from 10 months ago could not have dreamed about this moment. Mel from 12 hours ago could not have dared to expect this to happen to her, even though she wanted it so badly.
Mel from right now decided that all she ever wanted to do with Frank Langdon for the rest of her life is to kiss him.

He didn't really know how it happened.
One moment he was trying to calm down an agitated patient and the next he was on the ground as said patient was hitting him, and then the next moment the patient was ripped off him and firm loud voices filled the room.

A little Christmas fic from both Robby and Jack's
POVsThese idiots. I love them. Merry Christmas!
“Forgot something?” Robby asks, distracted as the board changes to show an incoming ambulance.
“Maybe. Thought I’d...we’d, uh...do one of those.”
“One of what?”
Jack gestures vaguely between them. “A hug. You know. A bro hug.”
Robby raises his eyebrows. “You don’t usually announce those.”
He realises after saying it that it’s usually him who initiates their occasional hugs, not Jack.

Summary
It feels easy—being around him, talking to him. It's like she’s been transported to a new dimension, one in which only the two of them exist. There’s no passage of time, there’s no cruelty or pain, only a deep sense of comfort and safety that comes with being truly known by another person.
Now, as she watches him gracefully move through the kitchen space, she realizes three things:
1. that she could watch him for hours straight if he let her;
2. that she might be undermining her own infatuation for this man;
3. that she’s utterly, catastrophically fucked.Bookmarked by ZiziGee

Samira has tried every weapon in her arsenal ever since he mentioned the appointment: big doe eyes sparking with the same curiosity she wears in the ED, little butterfly kisses from the corner of his mouth to just under his ear. She’s not above playing dirty either, and even though he comes with a reverent groan of her name, the sloppy blowjob still isn’t enough to impel him to divulge the design he’s chosen.

Summary
Robby only says two words before the silence stretches too long: I can't.
Jack doesn’t ask questions. He doesn’t hesitate. There is no place in heaven or hell where he wouldn’t go to find him — and tonight is no different.
On a dark roadside somewhere after 3 a.m., Jack finds Robby exactly where he feared he would be: lost, exhausted, and trying not to drown in everything he’s been running from. But Jack has never been good at letting Robby face those battles alone.
After all, some people leave.
And some people come back.
