She had dismissed his nonsense at the time. It was just so ridiculous and had zero scientific basis. But she could still remember the utter conviction in his voice when defending it, and now seeing that hopeful glimmer in the eye of Trucy Wright made her reconsider. It couldn’t hurt sparing a minute of her time for research. Everyone was waiting on the idiots behind the defence’s desk anyway.

Summary
No one had expected it.
The morning sky darkened with unmatched swiftness. Black clouds swarmed the sky in a flash, and heavy, torrential downpour followed shortly after. While the parched fauna welcomed the burst of hydration brought forth by the sudden tempest, the busy pedestrians fulfilling their daily routine did not.
Inclement weather disrupts the usual morning order of the Wright Anything Agency. While it creates unfortunate circumstances for Apollo, it also reveals something completely unexpected about his co-worker.

Then, like the devil ascending upon him—with her red hair, and malice crinkling her eyes, broadening her grin—her palms smacked the desk. “Five days until Christmas, Apollo!” she announced as if he hadn’t been dreading it with each passing minute. “Didja get your shopping done?”
“Good morning to you too, Athena.”
He hadn't wanted to go Christmas shopping, or even acknowledge December's existence after last year. But, of course, Athena had to ask, and, of course, he had to dig himself a grave, just as they'd done for Clay last December.
