One of those dangerous, damning thoughts flits through Atsumu's head, and he hesitates.
He could ask.
He could put his cards on the table, and if Sakusa’s not interested then he can play it off as being drunk and saying stupid shit. He’s certainly said worse before.
“You just…?” Sakusa prompts.
These are desperate times—apparently even more for Sakusa than for Atsumu, which he didn’t think was possible.
He takes a deep breath and goes for it.
“What if we helped each other out with th’ whole… dry spell thing?”
At least five different emotions pass over Sakusa’s shadowed face in the span of a half-second before he forces his neutral mask back into place. “You’re drunk.”
This is Sakusa. If his answer was no, he wouldn’t have a single issue letting Atsumu know it.
That?
That was very much not a no.

Summary
Here’s the thing about bad habits: you can’t really ignore them forever. If you try to, they’ll just end up sneaking up on you at the worst possible moments. So Kiyoomi tries to wrangle his into a semblance of discipline: he promises himself that at the end of the week, he gets to indulge. He lumps in all of his vices into one night of bad decisions, a twisted opposite of going to church on Sundays to atone for your sins. He maintains his good habits all week, and rewards himself with one night of bad ones.
So on these days, he drinks more than he’s supposed to. He eats whatever sugary sweets he wants to. He opens the door for Atsumu when he knocks. But, then again, Atsumu never knocks unless it’s one of those days. If only the drinks and the food offered the same courtesy.
[Or: Kiyoomi makes a habit out of Atsumu and Atsumu wants to make Kiyoomi something much more.]

If Bo invites ya around again and ya see me,” He shakes his head, purses his lips. “don’t come and say hi. Stay on yer real difficult road, with yer fancy car and designer shirt, and don’t come anywhere near my stupid easy route. That clear?”
He raises an eyebrow and Sakusa nods after a beat, rosy lips parted.
Atsumu offers him a wink, “Attaboy.”

Summary
Lance stopped in his tracks, lifting his head to stare fearfully toward their destination. The castle loomed ahead of them, ominous in its state of disrepair. The brickwork and ornate doors that had once held the royal family now stood crumbled and damaged. The beast that occupied the building now had no time for upkeep, it would seem.
“Keep it moving, Lance.” A gruff voice ordered from his side. The gentle pressure of the guard's sword settled between Lance’s shoulder blades a moment later, when Lance stayed frozen in spot despite the warning.
One more step and he'd be on the bridge. Short and stone, leading straight to the castle door. The final march, less than ten steps before death would inevitably snatch him up in its talons.

He isn’t going to get attached this time.
Making sure that he’s still holding the phoenix’s attention, he reaches down and pushes his cloak aside, then lifts his shirt. There, bright red and ugly against his hip, are three long slashes. They aren’t scars, they aren’t healed in the slightest, they’re still red and open wounds. They don’t hurt, not in the physical sense, but Lance can’t help the repulsion he feels whenever he looks at them.
“Not a deathwish, a death sentence.”

If it were anybody else, Lance would think they’re messing with him for fun.
But Keith is Keith, straight-forward and guileless. If he’s touching Lance more, it’s only because he’s gotten more comfortable. And on one hand, that’s great, that’s—Lance feels very honored. His heart is doing backflips and aerial stunts and everything. On the other, this is really not helping with his raging crush.
His breaking point turns out to be when Keith, exhausted after a day of subspace meetings, drops his head onto Lance’s shoulder and sighs.
It’s a sigh that says, now I’m comfortable, that admits, I’m recharging, that practically screams, you help.
Hands in his pockets, he lets Lance bear his weight as if he trusts Lance to handle it. Great. That’s just—how dare he. How dare he be so vulnerable with Lance? Who does that?
It’s so enraging that Lance just blurts out, “I’m going to need you to stop doing this before I fall in love with you even more, asshole.”
