“Bonnie and Clyde were killed in an ambush on May 23rd 1934. Fellow ‘heroic’ outlaws were gunned down by Sheriff Frank Hamer and his posse. The youngest member, Ted Hinton, said he knew Bonnie and Clyde and that he never expected Bonnie to turn out like this. He knew Clyde from childhood, growing up with him and knowing Bonnie when she worked as a waitress.”

Orel Puppingtons favorite thing in the universe used to be God, but with how his prayers have been turning out, how the Christians around him act, with how scary his life is, he isn’t so sure anymore.
Or: at the end of the show Orel turns out okay somehow and still has his faith despite everything. As a Christian who grew up in a conservative home I wanted to explore Orels changing relationship with God.

When his eldest, Jonathan (or just John for short), had asked him the question, the older man had nearly choked on his meatloaf. He'd dropped his fork, and it had clattered to the ground with a loud noise. His eyes went wide with fear. It was an entire machine of triggers and noise. All from a simple question that he wouldn't have even been asked if he had just brought up his family the right way.
