This is the fic where Wade comes across convict Peter Parker and instantly becomes obsessed, only to be the indirect cause of the guy breaking out, and taking way longer to realize that Spiderman, his developing crush, is the same person. Tony Stark had died in pain and in agony, his entire right side burnt and charred. Peter still remembers it, remembers the smell of burnt flesh, remembers the taste of smoke and ash in his mouth. Remembers it, because he has seen it in his every damn night for five months.
Tony Stark died.
Which is leading Peter to believe that he has died, too, because he is pretty sure he is seeing Tony Stark in front of him right now.

Tony Stark is a man that could say that he has lived it all. He’s had more than his fair share of life serving him a steak that was more salt than meat and he had to swallow it down through clenched teeth, burning his throat and making him twitch to his core. He wished he could just throw it up, but then he’d have to clean up the vomit.
And somehow, for whatever reason, the universe wasn’t done with him yet, because oxygen continued to flow through his lungs and his heart beat in his chest with and then without the glow sitting in his sternum. Through thicker and thinner, Tony was able to live.

Life sucks, Tony's a mess, marries Pepper, and is still a mess.
