This was supposed to be bullshit. Some charlatan spinning a story to make him feel better. That doesn't feel like what's happening here.
She sighs. It isn't unkind. “You want to try again.” She doesn't phrase it as a question, and it isn't, not to Ilya. Maybe he's drunker than he thought, maybe he's sadder than he's been in nearly fifteen years, but either way, he nods. “You can. It may go the same, maybe not. No promises. But tonight is a good night to try. Full moon, a big one. You are lucky.”
Ilya doesn't feel lucky, but he'll take her word for it.
