Though, you doubt you'd be doing much of anything, anyway. It's gotten unbearably cold these past few days, and you don't think you could weather the freezing temperatures outside without catching a cold. Hell, even now— you wrap your robe a little tighter and slip the blanket further up your shoulders just at the thought— you're not even spared in your own apartment. It's pitiful, frankly, and you resist banging your head on your desk as you grip the pen in your hand just a little tighter, just to take your mind off the cold. You're just about to finish up, and you're not about to lose momentum now, not over something you've managed to ignore just fine up until now.
And, of course, because everything seems to work against your focus—
Three taps, on your window. Evenly spread out, muted like gloved knuckles rapping against glass.
