She sat down next to him on the couch.
“You okay?”
The tightness that had been sitting in their chest since Donna had told him he needed to come home folded in on itself and tears welled up in their eyes.
“I don’t— I don’t think I am.”
She pulled him into a hug. He dug his face into her neck the way he had done to himself. She rubbed his back and held them tight, not to the point of being uncomfortable, but rather like a weighted blanket.
Her warmth made him feel all the times he hadn’t had that. All the times they’d parked the TARDIS in the stars and slept on the floor. All the nights he woke up and remembered everyone who’d died. They longed for touch, anyone’s touch, to make him feel something other than guilt.

The Doctor does not expect their trip to a New Years party to include meeting her wife for the first time in ages. However, when it does, she certainly expects herself to do the responsible thing and ignore her. Which is definitely what she does. 100%. She definitely doesn't stare at River until she starts talking to her. And under no circumstances does she flirt badly, dance even worse, and ignore the suspicion in River's eyes. She definitely doesn't do that.

“I did want to ask a favor, though.” She notices the wary look Yaz gives her. “Nothing bad! Just. One former traveler to another. Or others, I guess.”
Yaz weighs it. She doesn’t know Donna, technically speaking, but she does know what it’s like to be Donna. She wrestles, then sighs. “What’s the favor?”
Donna gives her a piece of paper with an address written neatly on it. “I’d like you to come here, please, on Saturday.”
Yaz takes it slowly. “Okay. What for?”
“Great! I’ll see you Saturday.” Donna gives her a pleasant smile, then walks away, leaving Yaz holding a scrap of paper, feeling uncomfortably suspicious.
