With a sigh, Akira separates himself from them.
“Please, don’t make me remind you of the rules,” he pleads.
Sumire looks away in shame. Goro keeps his eyes the entire time, a silent challenge of We all know you wanted this that he’s kind enough to keep unspoken, but also admittedly petty enough to bring up, at least in this capacity.
“You know this place isn’t that big. If we as much as hold hands back in my hometown, we’ll be the talk of it until the day I leave it. So let’s keep a low profile for today, okay?”
When Sumire and Goro visit Akira’s hometown, they have to face two major problems:
1) An almost complete ban on all public displays of affection
2) A boyfriend who is much worse for wear than he is willing to admit.
But it’s only a matter of finding the right solutions.

Summary
“I miss my mother’s tamagoyaki.” Goro admits quietly, glad for the fact that Akira can’t see his face right now. It’s comforting to feel his heartbeat and his body’s warmth underneath him and it’s this sense of comfort which makes him spill his own sentimental thoughts. There is always something about Akira which causes Goro to talk and talk about what is on his mind, but even then he still keeps certain things to himself. Talking about how he feels is uncomfortable and Akira can tell how he feels without words regardless.
“I can make you some tomorrow if you want.” Akira suggests gently.

“We are going to a furniture store,” Sumire says. “Just the two of us. To pick a bed. Together.”
“As we had agreed, yes.”
A spark of confusion lights up in Akechi's eyes, paired with the pique of not being able to read her like a book. She marvels at the sight, enjoying the beauty in her final moments.
“That will make us look like…” This is for Akira, this is for Akira, this is for Akira— “We will look like a couple.”
He scoffs. She is done for.
“And that is a problem how?”
After lengthy preparations and discussions, Sumire and Akechi reach the penultimate step in securing the gift for Akira's birthday - picking out a new bed. Between Sumire's insecurities, Akira's preferences being a mystery and the desire to get a one of a kind present, they may end up with more than they bargained for.

Summary
After a few more seconds, Akira peeks up at Goro. He’s in the midst of turning his head, as though he had just been looking at Akira, as though he didn’t want to be caught doing so. Akira tempts that fate. He stares at Goro, at the way the sunlight burnishes his hair, at how his throat moves as he swallows. Goro lifts a hand and rubs it across his face and then, abruptly, he sits.
“Fine,” he says. “Let’s start the shitty day.”
The comment, grousing and grudging as it is, makes Akira smile. “That’s the spirit.”
“If you wanted spirit, you should have moved in with Yoshizawa.”
The past year hasn’t just dulled Akira’s ability to mask how he feels behind an impassive wall. He can see Goro’s comment for the slight that it is, not against Sumire, but against Goro himself.
“And yet here I am.” He reaches out then, slowly, so Goro can move away if he doesn’t want to be touched. Yet Goro doesn’t. He remains still, watching as Akira pokes him once, gently, on the forehead. “What does that tell that big brain of yours?”

“No, you didn’t,” Goro interrupted, cutting him off with the precision of someone used to ending conversations before they even began. “Because you’re too stubborn to admit when you need help. Which is precisely why you’re lying here half-dead while I waste my afternoon playing nursemaid.”
Ren is no stranger to illness, but when fever strikes, he finds himself at the mercy of Goro Akechi’s reluctant care.

Tim pulled up short, hand moving instinctively to cover his ear and block out the London traffic. “Whoa, whoa Martin slow down.”
