"Found a Robin with its wings clipped. Doing you all a hell of a favor and not letting the cats at it. I'll bring it home when it's better."
Jason pauses a beat before adding, against his better judgement, "And then somebody'll be explaining to me why the fuck you all let him out of the house with a fever."

"Jason’s eyes widened in surprise. Underneath was a winged creature covered in shiny red and gold scales. It was small, about the size of your average house cat, but still, that was definitely a dragon. The creature seemed dazed at first, squinting under the harsh lights, but quickly regained its composure, looking around the room with wide eyes. Jason froze the second it turned towards him. There was real intelligence and fear behind those eyes, that wasn’t just some poor trapped animal, that was a person. Even worse, Jason recognized those wide, terrified eyes full of unshed tears; he recognized the way they were trembling like a leaf, desperately trying to shield their small body behind their large wings. Unfortunately, scared kids were a common sight in his line of work; he would recognize one anywhere, even if the kid wasn’t human."

Batman was coming.
Batman was coming and he would be able to work out another way, he always had another way.
They didn’t have to do… This. They didn’t, there was still time, there was always time.
Sure, the ship had been badly damaged in the crash and sure there was a slight risk of the whole thing exploding into a fiery inferno but everything was going to be just fine because Batman was coming.
Batman was coming, Dick and Jason should just be sitting by Tim’s side until then talking to him and keeping him conscious and maybe keeping him laughing too, Dick’s not meant to be looking that pale and Jason’s not meant to be stoking a small fire out of Tim’s eyeshot as if Tim hadn’t recognised the scent of smoke the moment Jason returned.
