“I’m Gojo Satoru, of course I can.”
“You know that’s not what I meant.”
“I don’t know.” Satoru admitted with a soft sigh. “I used to be sure that I would never hurt you. Now I’m not so sure anymore. I mean, I probably should have already killed you years ago, but I couldn’t. I still can’t. But one day, maybe, I might feel differently. Who knows.”
For a moment, Satoru thought that would be the end of it, that they would brush this conversation aside and move on, adding it to the ever growing pile of ugly stuff that they had been ignoring for years like dust swept under a rug. But then Suguru spoke up again.
“I wouldn’t mind if it’s you.”
Satoru's eyes widened.
Those words weighed more than any grand love declaration that Suguru might have spouted, more than any charged touch or kiss.
Because Suguru was willing to fight the whole of jujutsu society to go after his ideals. But not Satoru.
He would let Satoru kill him, if he so decided.
The weight of that realization was suffocating.
Or: Satoru and Suguru's secret meetings throughout the ten years following Suguru's defection.

Satoru makes some bastardization of a sound, half between a laugh and a cough. “...Whoops?”
“I,” Suguru grits, pinching two fingers together, “am this close to mass murder.” He’s joking. Probably.

Cursed spirits are usually born knowing what they were supposed to do, apparently.
"Apparently" is pretty dubious because Obito was not exactly born but more like spat out of death's stomach with absolutely no idea of what to do next.
On the upside (more like downside) there's a Kakashi-look alike with a god complex and Obito really wants to fist fight god.

In a twist of fate, he finds himself under the supervision of his former friend Satoru Gojo. Old wounds are torn open, and the two sorcerers are presented with a new opportunity to bridge past differences.

Sasuke always feels a little discomfited when bringing in captured missing-nin. That may be because he often wished he was a missing-nin; free from the politics of the village and the clan. The ties that keep him tethered to the village on a bad day can be simplified to just the stress him leaving would put on Itachi.
This may be why when the Hokage approaches him to spy on Orochimaru he accepts a little too fast.

After Pein's attack, Hatake Kakashi's corpse was secretly sent to the Root Headquarters by order of the new Hokage, Shimura Danzou. The man who protected him from being dissected was Akatsuki's true leader Tobi, or, Uchiha Obito.
Obito sank further into rage and despair. He was determined than ever to fulfill the Eye of the Moon Plan. However, his Kamui teleportation accidentally sent him to a parallel universe right before the Fourth Shinobi War started.
There he met:
a Namikaze Minato as the Fourth Hokage and a blissful husband and father;
a Nohara Rin as a superior medic nin and a strong, beautiful kunoichi;
a Hatake Kakashi as the ANBU commander and a son that the famous and respected White Fang was proud of;
and another Uchiha Obito as one of the top-class jonin of Konoha and the popular candidate of his sensei's successor, surrounded by his clan and everyone that he loved and vowed to protect at any cost.OR: Uchiha Obito decided to overturn the 'perfect world' where Team Minato lives a happy life.

“Satoru?” The word rings, fuzzy in his ears as it whines like tinnitus, familiar and heart stopping.
‘I’m dead.’ He can’t even hear his own thoughts over the loudness of the world, staggering where he stands, eyes still fixated on the sky, on the sun. ‘I’m dead, I died, I felt my heart stop, this can’t be, it can’t-’
“Hey,” it comes again, a little more urgent than before, a little closer, another hammer to his ears and all the noise shrieking behind his eyes. He recoils hard enough to go stumbling as a hand reaches for him, covered in flesh rather than empty bone, tan and recognizable. Unbelievable.
There’s something wet trickling from his nose. Bile stings on the back of his tongue. The words dissolve into the rest of the white noise as he stares up at the blue of the sky, and tries to remember if he’d ever had a hallucination as bright as this.
‘I have to be dead,’ he thinks. Somehow, he isn’t.
Or: Gojo Satoru goes back in time. He makes a couple of changes for the better.

The silence is laden with tension. Heartbreak from both sides, as different as it may be. Shoko looks away, pretending she doesn’t see the tears gathering along Satoru’s waterline. Her own eyes burn, too. But she will not cry over Geto Suguru, not now.
“Sorcerers don’t get to choose their missions,” Satoru says finally. He swallows, throat dry and tight. “I can’t give them a viable reason why I shouldn’t deal with what is, at this point, one of the biggest threats to jujutsu society. To non-sorcerers.”
A fracture, split three different ways. The-impossible-to-mend kind.
