He learns quickly that Quiet speaks with her eyes. She stares through him, stilled and unaffected as her hands wander. Kaz can see her better up close, and maybe she knows that, because at the single instance in which he squints she leans forward, offering a better view. She is softer than he would’ve ever attributed to her; she has a permanent crease in her brow and curl to her lip, but the lines of her features are soft, nothing sharp to be found. He’d been bitter to her, ordered her death and injury on several occasions, but she showed no outward disdain towards him— not any that he knew of. For all he knew, she kept her teeth out of his neck for Venom. He could see it in her— she loved him like Kaz did, and their boss loved them both back, so she kept her laser off Kaz’s head. That’s how Kaz understands it.

“Relax,” Venom says, and his voice is so calm and soft but still so gritty, the way Kaz imagines he’d sound first thing in the morning. He’ll need to check that theory one day. “Take a break.”
Kaz sneers, “Don’t need one.”
There’s a soft hum, and the gentle motions on his back don’t stop. Kaz wants to melt into it and forget about all the repetitive documents sprawled out before him. Even though he needs a break— his head is starting to hurt, his wrist is cramping from writing with his non-dominant hand for so long, and he’s just tired— he tries to think through it, repeat something in his head until he justifies working more. But the ultimate truth is that he was gone the moment Venom stepped into the room. Because at the end of the day, it’s *him.*

Summary
Juice remembers the first time they screwed, both drunk off their asses after hours in the club house. He'd taken one final slug of tequila- which really, he should never drink- and just blurted it out. Chibs hadn't laughed at him, though. Hadn't called him queer, or kicked his head in, or told the others. He'd just checked Juice was serious before bending him over the pool table.
And that had been that. No ceremony, just two guys.
