"Shh, you're okay," Techno says in a solicitous tone as the kid savoured his embrace. "You're safe. You're safe with me."
Tommy subconsciously clings onto his brother's hoodie like there's no tomorrow, his knuckles turning white from the pressure. A hand that's not his own is put on top his trembling one, squeezing it in a continuous rhythm that seemed to pull him out of his thoughts.
Techno's hugs were oddly comforting, always have been. Tommy couldn't help but giggle at how much concern was being displayed by his usually reserved elder brother. Maybe he'll bully him about this tomorrow, but for now, he found solace in the silence. The storm had calmed down, and Tommy was scared for a moment that Techno would send him back to his room, but he didn't.

Siren snorted. “No. I’m just here to order some food.”
“Wh-What about him?” The cashier asked, glancing at Tommy. “Did you- did you kidnap him?”
“I mean… yeah, let’s go with that in case this ends up on the news,” Siren shrugged, looking back at Tommy. “I kidnapped you, right?”
“Yeah, sure,” Tommy agreed, knowing that if they said he was kidnapped, it would keep people from getting suspicious of why he was seen in public with Siren. “Anyway, can I get the chicken nuggets happy meal, with a coke?”
or, how Tommy—who is not a hero, or a villain, or even a vigilante—saves the life of one of L'Manberg's most feared supervillains, and accidentally ends up becoming the resident doctor for every supervillain in town (and maybe gets a family along the way too).
