The steady tick-tick-tick of the clock on the wall is the only indication that time is passing at all. A glance in its direction tells her it is nearly midnight—it has been less than a day since she watched him fall, since she watched that filthy demon scum Lucifer’s brat called a housekeeper drive her blade into his back. She should be sleeping—come the morning, she’ll need to stand before the remaining exorcists as their sole leader, to stand strong in the face of the tragedy that’s befallen them all.
But lying here, in this bed where she spent so many nights with him, wearing a ratty old T-shirt bearing the logo of one of Earth’s rock bands that is much too big for her and still smells like him, nothing is real to her but the shape of his halo under her fingertips.

Summary
“Yes, our laptops,” Rumi responds, though her voice is a little strained. She gives him a weird look before her eyes widen, seeing more white than the brown he adores. Her hand covers her mouth as if she discovered something foul. “Jinu, do you know what a laptop is?”
All three of their heads snap towards him, eyes locked onto the demon as if he were their prey. The intensity of their gazes makes his skin crawl slightly, almost making feel like he was floundering.
Jinu gulps, it being painfully slow.
Here’s the thing, the demon has no clue what a laptop is.
“What…is a laptop?” The demon hesitantly asks, trying to smile (and failing) to lighten the blow.
It did not in fact lighten the blow.

Summary
Hell is the last place Adam should be. He only sees one solution: Going to the very same Hotel he tried to destroy not a day ago. As if Adam's unexpected arrival at the Hotel isn't enough, tensions are growing. Something is up with Alastor, the reality of Husk's situation is setting in, and Angel Dust can't spend another night in Valentino's arms.
None of Heaven and Hell's political bullshit matters to Adam. Not the overlords getting picked off one by one, not the ulterior motives of his new companions, and not the emotions he'd spent hundreds of years suppressing that were all coming back in a fucked-up hurricane of confusion. Totally not.
All he cares about is going home. Can't be too hard, right? After all, he's Adam. Dickmaster. First fucking man. He can handle anything. Can't he?
