“Please.” Came the strangled voice by his left ear. “Please, tell me.”
And who was Shane to ever deny a wish of Ilya Rozanov.
“I’m signing to Ottawa. Tomorrow. If you would want to come with.”
And then Ilya was shoving him back, holding him close to his face. “Of course. I drive. Of course I come.”

Shane, fed up with Montreal, signs to Ottawa before their relationship is revealed. While he doesn't plan on keeping that a secret for long, he asks Ilya to let him get to know the team first, before they come out. To maybe have a normal season. Hayden feels like a complete asshole, all of a sudden. There’s just been too much going on to even think about Shane’s mystery girlfriend. “Shit, I should probably, like, call her, or something? I don’t know this girl at all, but Shane’s been obsessed with her for years. If she was watching the game, she would have seen him get hurt.”
“You don’t need to call her,” Rozanov says, and when Hayden glances at him, he still looks fucking miserable but now he’s rolling his eyes, a much more familiar expression of disdain on his face. “She’s sitting right here.”
