Summary
As she seals off the very last letter – tying it to the foot of a gentle dove - she thinks about what she’s just done.
She thinks about the fact she’s just lied – she thinks about the fact that they’re all pretty bold-faced lies. She thinks about the fact that she’s likely going to have to come up with even more lies to keep the starting lies going. She thinks about the fact that she hasn’t felt anything at all during these last few moments – that her heart has been empty, her head has been quiet, and her feet haven’t touched the ground. She thinks and she thinks and she ponders and she asks and she muses – why had she done all of this? Why had she lied so blatantly to the people she supposedly desired to trust above all else? Why was it so hard to be truthful, instead of spinning another yarn? Was this what she truly wanted?
Well, she supposes she’d lied far enough already; there’s no real recourse or reconciliation for her actions at this point than to stick with them, and to keep going.
She just needed to make those reasons into a reality.

There’s a small, historical old movie theatre in one of the quieter parts of town.
You know the one; the parts that are mostly run down from how long it’s just been there and filled with old farts that have refused to move in over forty years because they’re just that old and stubborn, and you might as well move mountains with the willpower you’d need to crack bone and teeth alike. It “speaks” to the city’s cultural heritage – a neighborhood that hasn’t been run over by multi-story plain white condos that'd make an architect from the seventeen hundreds cry.
He’s not here to see a movie. In fact, he’s never here to see a movie. Venti is here for a pack of smokes, instead. So, as he goes to the small vending machine to grab his favorite pack of smokes, and from the corner of his eyes, he thinks..
Oh, wow.
There’s a girl here.

And in return, her gratitude for his love and his time and his patience and his dedication to her, she comes bearing cecilias; she comes bearing cecilias she had painstakingly hand-picked in her arms, as she softly approaches him at the base of his statue in the middle of the cathedral’s plaza, the late afternoon golden sunlight casting him in a brilliant hue as he steps out from underneath the long dark shadows made by beautifully carved stone wings; she approaches him slowly and tentatively, her heart racing, as dandelion seeds flutter so delicately within the spring breeze – and in a small, tiny voice, barely above a whisper, she calls out his name.
She calls out his name, the name of the man she had grown to love so fervently, as she stands ever so quietly before him, unable to utter another word; her tongue and her mouth and her lips – they’re all so simply useless, she finds, in the face of the magnitude of just how much she loves him. Oh, words – words could never just do; there is nothing she can’t quite say, that would express just how deeply she felt for him.
So, she comes bearing cecilias as her heart blooms roses, in the hopes that her devotion would be enough.

And before she knows it, she finds that her feet are off the ground, as he whispers in her ear not to look down. She sighs and she asks him why he has to do this every time, and he laughs; he laughs as he holds her flush against him and tells her he just can’t help it.
But, before too long, they float slowly back down to the ground, as Venti gently sets her down on the grass. “…. Still, you made it! It really seemed like you weren’t going to be able to finish everything in time…”
And as she rests so comfortably and so securely in his arms, she places a warm hand on his cheeks, smiles, and tells him ever so softly, “This is important to you. Why shouldn’t I come?”

Over 2000 years ago, Morax has little to no interactions with the Anemo Archon. Decarabian locks himself in his tower, believing falsely that his prison kept his people safe. Morax was never able—nor particularly inclined to—tell him otherwise.
So he was not surprised when Decarabian’s own people overthrew him. What he was surprised at though, was the new Anemo Archon that replaced him.

Venti remembers the man in the alleyway, lit almost ablaze in the lamplight. The gold in his eyes. The meteor orbiting his shoulders. His hands had been as steady as the earth, and when he held Venti, he had called him—
—a name he hadn’t heard in a long, long time.
After hearing news of Morax’s death, Venti travels to Liyue to honor a tradition that the Original Seven had long held: each time one of them passed on, those that remained would gather to drink a toast and say their final goodbyes.
He figures Morax deserves this, at the least, even if it’s a party of one. He didn’t think it would be so hard to do it alone.
Drunk, lonely, and despairing, Venti takes to wandering the streets of Liyue and stumbles upon a well-dressed stranger by the name of Zhongli, who reminds him far too much of what he’s just lost.
