Not only are her numb hands blackening by the second, but with every gasped breath, discoloured blood stains the front of her viridescent dress. She’d bought it specifically after Halsin had remarked that the colour complimented her sun-kissed skin. She’d enjoyed the way his face had flushed when she’d stepped out of her tent that morning.
