When his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon die in a car crash before his ninth birthday, he's sent with his cousin Dudley to live with Aunt Marge. Unfortunately, Aunt Marge drops him off at what she thinks is an orphanage, leaving Harry in the care of children's services.
A year later, Remus Lupin comes looking for his best friend's son, to check on his welfare. When he finds Harry missing, he asks for his father's help in getting Harry to safety and family. As Remus, Lyall, and Harry navigate their new family dynamics, they are challenged by all parts of the wizarding world, and by the mysterious events that follow with Harry's years at Hogwarts. Chapters will alternate between Harry POV and Remus POV, unless otherwise stated. Canon-compliant relationships.
